What is / Was your favourite G Scale loco?

Probably this one, but it does depend on which day of the week it is!

Wrong colour! ::) ::)
Track maintenance machinery HAS to be yellow! ;) ;)
Nah... they've not been yellow for ages. I well remember the first time I took my N gauge layout to Germany back in 2003. I was running my Minitrix tunnel rescue set which had recently cost me £199 (discount price), a new german friend who worked for DB said "of course they're all in red now"!

[edit]... Though I suppose this counts as rescue rather than maintenance[/edit]

Hummmm..
Now, if I could embed a video, directly into the forum, like you can a picture...

My favourite loco is my Bachmann 1:20.3, 55 Ton, 3 truck Shay.

It will always be my favourite because its purchase came with strings attached, namely I had to get married before I could buy it, now how is that for dedication to ones hobby? ;) ;) ;)

How far would you be prepared to go?

I might consider parting with a kidney for one of these.... ;)

Ooo - thats nice. Regner?

Lovely looker, but the full-power chuff sound makes me think of someone banging nails into a lump of wood!

No, Dingler. Korean-built small batch (100?) brass. The "big brother" to the Ts3 0-6-0 that I do have. Ludicrously expensive, something up around the 4000 Euro mark when new, never even seen a second-hand one....

I see what you mean about the sound, Nick - though it's a commercial German-made sound decoder that is presumably authentic....?

I think you would maybe have to sell your soul....

Still this one, also my first. I've always had a soft spot for little Porters

Not quite a loco, but this:

Railbus.JPG

Ugly, daft, didn`t want to move sometimes and required a boot up the bumper* (this sounds like me on a Friday night) but still a chuckle when it was going up & down the branchline. The only part of the railway that I found hard to part with, to be honest.

* If the bloke that bought it is reading, I think it was because I ran analogue using an LGB shuttle unit but the `bus needs a minimum 5v to start :D

I'm "the bloke that bought it", Puggy, and don't worry - it's been running fine for me....
It's safe and being well looked after, and will get a DCC chip and sound whenever I can get around to it! :)

I'm really pleased that it still runs is still providing pleasure. Isn't there a space problem with chipping these?

Hahaha.... ;)

Anyone here actually seen one of these "in the flesh", or (even better) will own up to having one.....?

Jon.

I think approximately half the population of the globe have a 'dingler'.....
I'll own up first...................
