Woodlock Logging

I do like those rail cars, but they are quite long?

How do they look on R1 curves….
Not the best to be honest. But it's a model I had to have. Had to move quite a bit of trackside furniture to make it fit 460063_IMG_20220822_111946.jpg

These wagons are absolutely shocking runners. As you all know I like my track to be in tip top condition, but there's no helping these.PXL_20221110_110155838.jpg

So what make and wheel type? I wonder if metal wheels perhaps Bachman would improve them. Seams a shame to have such a good set of wagons that clearly look good to not enjoy running them.

Bachmann Metal Wheels on all of them. Slackened the bogies. Changed to Knuckles. Nothing makes them run reliably. No such problems with my other stuff.

Have you checked the B2B, I have found some B'mann wheels to be wide, and although 40 mm is the standard, prefer 39.5 mm.

Wonder if it is the knuckle couplers? Always use LGB hook n loop with no issues. Wonder if you can swop out to temporary change to them?

I use Bachmann/Lilliput wheels with my stock, and I’ve had no issues?

However I did have problems with Bachman Knuckles on R1 curves….

I think our pet cat, Claude was often more popular than the railway. He certainly did his fair share of photo bombing. Well, just to let you all know, we had to say goodbye on 30th December 2022, after a relatively short but stubborn illness. Here's one of my favourite pictures.

SO sorry to hear you lost Claude, he was indeed a handsome fellow.

Very sad, I know how quickly you (we) can get attached to our cats and their antics.

I'm very soory to read your news. Claude looks very much what our vet would call "a very fine cat". Is there a hidden reason for his name?

Fluff, my last cat for the moment, died on Easter Sunday, 2012, and is still much missed.

No particular reason for his name, we just wanted something stupidly old fashioned and traditional. Always makes me smile when a pet has a more human name.

New points installed and working fine.PXL_20230318_132139087.jpgPXL_20230318_131903383.jpgPXL_20230318_131816428.jpgPXL_20230318_131425256.MP.jpgPXL_20230318_130706506.jpgPXL_20230318_110329424.jpg

A recent trip to PS Models has made for a busy yard at Woodlock.PXL_20230403_120332638.jpg

Had a massive clear out and tidy out of the rolling stock cupboard. Had loads of stuff that I bought years ago on a tight budget to get started, so got rid of most of that stuff now, as newer LGB stock has been bought over the years.PXL_20230404_094926955.jpg

The other half collects Steiff Bears, and she found this at Kent Garden Railways. Back in it's box now, never to be run. But maybe this is the start of her collecting LGB....... No, I doubt it PXL_20230404_095841364.jpgPXL_20230404_095833765.jpgPXL_20230404_095830463.jpg

Possibly a bit long for tight radius curves? :mm:
Not sure, these run perfectly as do the hooker tankers. I think it's a simple quality issue.
