? Do you mean the cover plates on the points ? - Or have I missed something? Again!

You know when you get a daft idea, and you just have to try it out on paper, to prove the concept.

Well...

IMG_20180601_180302.jpg

...the MPD is going to be a four road, poss. five road, one, and for good measure, it now has determined where the building is going as well.

...anyhow crayon/chalk issues aside.

Yesterday a fight with blunted/scrapped cutting disks and extension supplies, which I won, and the arrival of more bits, time to sort out a few issues.

Two issues, sort out MPD track layout and edging of island platform track.

Then...

...and now.

IMG_20180608_174403.jpg

...you sort of get the idea, MPD office will be the battery/switch cover for the building/station lights, there is even a duct to run the wires up inside.

Still need to get a hold of a few items, couple of sleeper buffer stops, R1 curve (Either hand .) or make one, and four manual point switches...

The inner platform is next in line  for treatment, cutting disks excepted...

Activity today...

Inner platform edge support and building slab (foundation) works...

IMG_20180610_123948.jpg

...the gap will be closed when I get some better slab cutting disks.

...Hook up wires for the building and platform lights...

IMG_20180610_130731.jpg

...4 x 20 yards approx. lengths, all twisted by hand...

IMG_20180610_124919.jpg

...O.K., by drill, but it was hand held, so it counts.;)

Have now taken the lighting testing a stage further.

Fully charged AA batteries, set up and left on overnight, to see how long the would run for...

My locos need to run that long Gordon!

Not too short of 24 hours now, someone left the lights on whilst the additional detailing was installed.

...impromptu weather test as well, unexpected downpour this afternoon, and no one was home.

Well here we are just short of 36 hours, lights are still going.

After the rain yesterday, early indications were that another sort of soaking was pending this morning, but he didn't. :whew:

So I think my evening running session lighting set up can count as a success.

Lighting trials suspended at the 40 hour mark.

Have now wired up the outer platform lights, and ran an extension cable from the station building to the MPD battery hubs. Batteries on charge to see how the platform lights perform later.

Father's Day gift included two more Airfix Quickbuild kits, so added scenery as it were...

P1020531.JPG

...even the MPD staff are in on the act...

...but questions abound as to the generosity of the MPD foreman's new pay package...

Outer platform lights were hooked up yesterday, and tested last night...

Minor disaster with the connection of the last fitting, I snapped it, but a spare was soon in place...

...more of my dodgy camera skills as well...

...Have to say it has turned out better than I thought it would.

Battery power test today, incorporating the use of the "new " composite picnic table, well you have to put the stuff down somewhere...

IMG_20180622_172445.jpg

...18v battery power, all lines traversed, Darlo branch, only up to the shed lines, which were blocked by the engineering dept., cleaned at stall points, and points as well...
(Memo to self, must pack up the tools on the shed lines tomorrow.)

...little MOW did a couple of dozen circuits in various directions...
