The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Fantastic pics. And bring your other camera with you next time, as well ;)

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Good to see the line back up and running James. A summer of running ahead I hope ;)

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Blended in nicely James - looks like it has been down for years :)

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

I can't believe how the railway has really evolved in the past few years - it's a shame it isn't run more often, but when it is, it always delights...

Today we were visiting Blists Hill at Telford, but we got to Chester in time to play trains in the evening. Elly and I cleaned the track and pruned some trees with Mum before Elly had a fun hour playing and shunting with her Stainz and a passenger train. I didn't get to run my Frank S tank, but hopefully with another good day forecast tomorrow we'll have a bit of a running session as well as nipping out for a cake to Llangollen Railway...

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Good to see you back on here, James, it seems like ages since you last posted. The line is looking really good now, with the growth of the plantings really integrating with the railway - everything a good garden line should be! :)

Jon.

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Lovely to see your line again James, the horticultural aspect has improved no end :)

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Uh, er your good camera ? Looks like your aging I phone does a very nice job at capturing images. [e]339[/e]

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Golly James, the planting really has come along, it's looking great :)

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Hadn´t seen this before. Really looks like part of the landscape! ;D

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Well it's raining now but this morning has been glorious so we ran plenty of trains. The U-class and Frank S saw action on the passenger train - as did the Polish Lyd2 (Faur L45H) diesel on both freight and later passenger...

Beautiful line

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

I could not pic a favourite from those James they are all good. I must get my camera out :-[

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

That looks a very busy and very enjoyable session.

The ladder leaning against the wall of the engine shed is a lovely bit of detail.

Re: The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Thanks chaps - I don't do much modelling in the scale anymore, but playing trains is always fun.
I'm currently building a Eastern European 4mm scale narrow gauge layout which is proving to be good fun, and fits in my own house, rather than requiring Mum's garden!

Well it's been an age since I updated this post - trains have run this year - but I'll add all the missing photos from 2014 as well...

I made a resolution this year to run the EJ&KLR more this summer so today I took the opportunity to play trains with Alex who adored the railway again.

This Bank Holiday saw the EJ&KLR run again as Alex and I ran the little O&K. Only a few weeks ago my niece was enthral led by the little green Stainz too, so the railway is a hit with all the grand children!

Despite the threatening weather more trains ran in the EJ&KLR this weekend. The Frank S, Rugen, Schoema and Stainz ran freight and passenger turns before showers set in at the end of the afternoon. The line has matured beautifully, it'a a delight to operate and relax...
