The Logging, Gravel & Brickworks Railway

The loco was also tested with the new Driving Trailer, recently converted for passenger push-pull operations.

Another coach is currently in the works for conversion as a non-driving vehicle....

Also under going testing today, was V51, recently converted for digital operations by MRC inc. Some minor adjustments will be needed, but otherwise this has been successful.

This leaves only one of the LG&Bs fleet of 5 diesel locomotives to be converted when hauling trains on other TOC's (Train Operating Concerns) using the MTS system. Indeed, it is proposed to convert the LG&B to this standard later this year, whilst maintaining a limited analogue operation for the steam locos operated on heritage services....

Nice, I really like these locos - I bet they are good pullers too being a motor per bogie? Interested you are going MTS. It seems to be the way forward.

I really don't need one of the whizzy cranks locos - but there is something about them - it's on 'one day' list! :) I wonder if LGB will ever re-visit some of the Austrian models under Marklin ownership? Lovely to see members passing cherished models on to new homes... it keeps everybody happy and cuts out the ebay/Paypal profiteers :)

Have to agree with you James?

I'm not keen on the EvilBuy thing, and I'd rather do a deal with someone like minded here on the forum. I've brought some great stuff from others here over the years, and in the case of Wizzy, I was able to visit the CFR, meet with Casey and his gang, see the loco running and have a good chat about G scale in general.

I've now agreed a deal with another member to buy his MTS 2 and I'm selling on my Train Engineer to another one to partially fund this, so it's a win/win for everybody....

A long time ago someone (may have been the Stainzmeister) posted a vid of one of the real whizzy cranks and they don't half shift!

That's the one Tim, cheers . VERY Whizzy Gizzy .
Yes, thanks for that Tim?

Definitely going to recreate those logging trains on my railway, although they will have to be somewhat shorter with 4 bogies instead of 12!

Wish LGB would make one of those railcars? Shame they never produced the Desiro style DMU as planned before they were taken over by Maerklin....

Now that the LG&B has gone to the dark side and MTS operation, some changes have had to be made to the network.

Firstly, the little used straight road of the triangular Quarry Junction has been lifted. This used to have one of three Analogue Only LGB 10151 Reversal Tracks, which have now all been disposed of to other G Scale TOCs....

The other 2 LGB 10151 track sections were located in the reversal chords in Weybourne Station. Last year they were positioned to optimise the longest length of track possible, but this was at the expense of operational flexibility.

The chords are to be operated using a Massoth Polarity Reversing Module which will be 'located' in the station building, so the LGB 10151 have been removed and LGB 10152/11152 Insulating Track Double refiited and relocated as required.

Weybourne East Junction has been reinstated,

South Junction has been relaid as previously,

and therefore, the crossover before Weybourne Yard has been removed....

Made a few changes to the LGB today at Sheringham.

The headshunt was too short to fit my rake of 5 OEG hoppers and a Bo-Bo loco, so the crossover in front of 'Wizzy' was moved towards the platform by moving it a LGB straight (300mm) closer....

The work at Sheringham gave up a 1200mm LGB straight for elsewhere, so I decided to use it in Sheringham Yard.

I had planned to use a a pair of points here that I took up following the rationalisation of Quarry Junction, so with a little bit of 'land grab' at Pebble Beach, I doubled up the sidings.

I must do an audit and count how many points I have on my railway sometime....

Hmmm, 27 points (one of those is an R3, with the rest being R1),
2 three way points (one R3 and one R1), and a couple of R1 Diamond Crossings.

I have 8 motored (facing) points operated by a LGB 55025 Switch Decoder, and a spare motor in the shed which may get fitted on the approach (R3) point to Sheringham and operated by analogue one day.

All my track is LGB except for 2 ART level crossing/re-railer straights....

Just a few more points Gizzy for Clapham Junction :rolf:

One heck of a lot of points! I like that rail mounted 360 digger - not seen that model before:thumbup:
