Made a few changes to the LGB today at Sheringham.

The headshunt was too short to fit my rake of 5 OEG hoppers and a Bo-Bo loco, so the crossover in front of 'Wizzy' was moved towards the platform by moving it a LGB straight (300mm) closer....

Hey Gizzy - any chance of a quick write-up sometime of how you made the hopper wagon loads? I know you mentioned in another post about using cheap cat litter (hopefully unused... :bleh:) and Cascamite, but some notes and possibly pics on how you went about it would be great - I've been trying to think of a way to make some realistic-looking loads for my hoppers without making them too heavy.

Sure thing mate!

I've even got half a bag left if you want it?

I must do an audit and count how many points I have on my railway sometime....

Hmmm, 27 points (one of those is an R3, with the rest being R1),
2 three way points (one R3 and one R1), and a couple of R1 Diamond Crossings....
Just a few more points Gizzy for Clapham Junction :rolf:

Oooo, complex curvy trackwork!

Gizzy - just in case you've not heard something similar, there's a clip of the SVT 137 on YouTube:-

At about 2min 30secs there's a part with a bit more throttle - music indeed.
Cheers

I no longer have the Frying Hamburger David?

It looked odd going round my R1 curves, so I sold it to Tony.

I believe he is converting it to a HST....

Well due to a busy year with work, shifts, poor weather, cycling and holidays, I haven't had as many opportunities to get out in the garden and run trains this year as I'd have liked.

However, a hot sunny Sunday, in October has allowed me to catch up and run V51 with hoppers....

All these photos were taken around Weybourne.

At this end of the line, I have a continuous loop, so I can watch trains go by.

Also handy for photographing trains on the move....

First run of 2012.

V51 hauls a short rake of OEG (Olde English Gravel) hopper wagons.

One of the red OEG wagons has just arrived back from Ruritanian Railways on a stock transfer. A Silberhutte hopper has made the return trip loaded with visible English aggregate, quarried in Suffolk....

Following the purchase of a diamond crossing and points from Terry, I've been mocking out how I plan to re-model Quarry Junction from the current ladder configuration.

I did originally draw this using Anyrail, then I checked it by laying the new track formation on the old junction. You have to use your imagination to fill in the gaps which of course will use some of the curves laid.

I will need to find another LH point from elsewhere, but I have a cunning plan involving installing another curved crossover at Weybourne South Junction to replace one on the straight.

I seem to have a dearth of R1 curves and LH R1 points and I'll probably end up with a surplus of RH spare points....

During an early Sunday possession of the Main Line by the Infrastructure Dept, Quarry Junction has now been remodelled....

Well the Engineering Works on Quarry Junction over ran, due to the requirement for a LH point.

One was recovered from Weybourne South Junction and duly laid for the branch connection.

The replacement of the previous ladder junction arrangement will speed up the passage of trains to and from the branch....

One of the ladder crossovers at Weybourne South Junction has been lifted and repositioned further along the Up Main, to allow faster speeds through the points.

Both crossovers are now laid on the curve....
