The Woodlock Line

Thou shalt not covet ......................... but does that commandment extend to a Nohab? It is, after all, rather nice :clap::clap:

Photo bomb. Sorry. It's a European Narrow Gauge day, today. And whilst the trains are going round, I decided to take the final plunge and do the last 8 fishplates to rail clamps. These have been the hardest to do, in the most inaccessible locations. But I can finally confirm that every single one has now been done. Every siding, loop, turning circle and main running line. Everything. Very dull, cold day, that sort where you observe the garden and think, god it looks miserable. Thinking about painting the fence, again, even though it was done last year, as it's started going green where it sees no sun through winter. Can you wash fence......?PXL_20250201_101152684.MP.jpgPXL_20250201_101205467.jpgPXL_20250201_101339389.jpgPXL_20250201_101343888.jpgPXL_20250201_120809182.MP.jpgPXL_20250201_120924733.jpgPXL_20250201_121635183.jpgPXL_20250201_121725762.jpgPXL_20250201_121839328.MP.jpgPXL_20250201_122408158.MP.jpgPXL_20250201_122419614.MP.jpgPXL_20250201_122545766.MP.jpgPXL_20250201_122557271.jpgPXL_20250201_122757304.jpgPXL_20250201_122921070.jpgPXL_20250201_123914399.jpgPXL_20250201_123918982.jpgPXL_20250201_123943289.jpgPXL_20250201_130053364.jpgPXL_20250201_130235957.MP.jpg

My first thought was sympathy for you having to take up track to replace the fishplates, but I see that you have a far more efficient method! I'll have to keep it in mind if I'm ever in the same situation. (Assuming my mind can keep it!)
If I had to take the track up, I'd just get rid of it all.....

Whoa! That sounds like a sore spot. Didn't mean to trigger. Are you tiring of the hobby, wanting to go with a larger radius, or... (if you're willing to share)
No, no, not a sore spot. It's been a long hard drag doing the rail clamps. I wish I'd done them from the very start. I don't think I would have the will power to take the track up, to do the fish plates. I'm glad I found a way of doing it without removing track to do so. It's been down 11 years with lifting, other than to extend or fit new slidings etc. Definitely not tiring or the hobby, I love it and won't be ending it anytime soon.
