What happened at your workbench today?

Not so much on my workbench but around my layout.
I have/had paths mode of decomposed granite (a type of crushed rock) which kept getting overgrown with weeds everytime we had a dose of rain.
These pictures tell the story of what I did to fix the problem.

This is typical of the growth after 3 days of rain.

I chipped the weeds out with a hoe

After I finished chipping and raking up the weeds the paths looked like this,
but if I left them like that after the next dose of rain I would be back to square one.

I laid artificial grass to cover the granite and to suppress any future weed growth.
While I was at it I replaced the old rotting garden edging with treated timber edging.
SWMBO likes it because she can walk in bare feet and not hurt them on stones.

There is an upside to having offcuts of the artificial grass I can use it around my benchwork.

Lionelville gets nuked.....

I cobbled this together over the last few days. Lionel Trains produced a nuclear power plant that had action and lights, some years ago.
Here's a video of someone else's Lionel Atomic Power Plant. While the accessory can be entertaining, I found through actual experience that it had some glitches.

So here is my version of an atomic power plant.

Needs a pink saloon car parked outside,

A D70 bulldozer (aka me with a chipping hoe) was deployed to clear the final patch of weed.
The project manager (SWMBO) has given her approval as has the site supervisor ( a pee-wee, a black and white small lark) who scored a couple of tasty grubs.
Some turf was put down as a test so now plans are afoot to but 5 more rolls to finish it all.
The brown pot is a cut down olive barrel which will have some plants in it to try and reduce the visual impact of the sewer access hole.

You could always paint the sewer manhole cover green, or just turf right over it, they'll find it if they need to. looking good tho.

Well you'll be more than enlightened if you're not cartwright your nuclear aspirations

Are you guys trying to make me more corn-fused than I already am.....o_O

NO! Just.. NO!
This is down right scary... Six mixed Li-Ion cells (one odd one of a different make) . No fuse. No protection, or BMS. - There is a manual speed controller, with a Polyswitch, but no protection for the lighting and internal 'wiring', such as it is..
The 'charger' is an after-market 30V 2.16A laptop supply, so it is no surprise the cells are dead.

I will dispose of the innards... And start again.

Some people will not learn about the use of lithium batteries. I love them, but as you say they must be fused, and that should has close to the output as possible, but why do most lithium batteries explode (ebikes for example) not using a compatible charger, and gashing up a 'make and do'.
Respect lithium batteries, treat them correctly, and they are generally very safe.
