Eighton Bahn AKA testing testing RhB

Dash Cam arrived today, It was a swap for something I was happy to give FOC, so they/it owes me nothing.

So spent today getting it all sorted, set up a camera wagon, SD card formatted...

I slightly remember, when Dra Estrecha got her dashcam, there was mention of a particular form of SD card required. On the other hand, if that has the card it came with, maybe it just needs formatting some other way? (My CCTV cams' cards for example, prefer to be formatted via the app rather than via Windows)

Managed to get another micro SD card, and it works, sort of.
I had a small crop of videos, showing nothing much, a derailment and finally a full loop sort of tail chasing the new(er) crok and coaches.
The only problem, is they are all upside down, I can flip them to view them, but not save them the correct way up.

But I will get there somehow.

Ok new plan, blue tack it correct way up on a piece of thin mdf. Blue tack that to a wagon but slightly raised at the back should sort it. lots of fun in store!

Do you have a copy or access to the Windows Program Movie Maker video editing software, (part of Windows Essentials) from editing section, imported raw video can be flipped to the correct orientation.

This is how I made my camera wagon:

Right folks, it's done. without the aid of Blu Tac, just a tweek of the camera settings.

Was it worth the wait, probably not.;)
Yes the triffids need cutting back, we also have low flying aircraft (maybe they were trying to get a closer look) and I have no idea who the fat bloke is.o_O

As for comments, don't know why it won't let me turn them on, maybe it's for the better eh!

Update, comments can now be made, what have I let myself in for.

Impressive, and just like the Hitchcock films, a small cameo for Gordie - oh, oops, Hitchock only did horror films

You know, you can go off some people.:Do_O:eek::eek::eek:

OMG, he's at it again, well you were warned...

Ok enough of my dodgy video skills, let's get back to something I am more comfortable with, my dodgy photography skills.

I may need to get on top of the shed roof to take a full view, I'll leave it for a while, as knowing my luck i'll fall off...

...tail chasing videos aside, there is a serious side to this tail chasing. In so far as whilst I have full confidence in the extra leccy pick ups doing their job in the old girl (Crok 413), until they bed in the occasional shove may be required...

...but it looks as if I may not be as confident in my work as maybe I should be. So it's only fair to return the favour, just to show willing...

So phase II testing continues, various things run, done and bits lost along the way...

,,,Phase III has sort of commenced, something I was hoping to put off until next year, the first or a potential three passing loops, will be at the Horseshoe Loop, which has turned out to be the middle distance of the line.
So part of this afternoon has been spent making a pair of short straights out of some rail and sleeper offcuts to be used in conjunction with R3 points, to replace/liberate a pair of 2 footers, which will be re used in the loop.
I need an estimated 20 ft,, of plain track and ATM I have a 2 footer and the when liberated another 4 ft. Railclamps for the points are on order, and a list other supplies required has been drawn up.

It's on a bit of a slow burn cycle not like the last couple of months, other upcoming things within the next few weeks will cause the slow down.

I'm not sure how long of either of them are, 40/50 feet, maybe, it's too dark to measure now (22:45) so will give an update tomorrow.

But for a rough guess, the spiral, is approx., 50 feet, from the start of the drop to where it passes under the bridge.

Ok the tape has been run out and the results are in.

The double bridge straight is 50 ft, and the drop to the horseshoe loop is 41 ft,
that's give or take a bit for my early morning mental maths and it's raining.
