Trams made in Wuppertal / G scale

I found this video on line Straßenbahn Museum Hannover if only we all had such space.
What was so memorable about that Video (well besides the many super models) was the realistic steady tram like speeds throughout the whole piece. Just wonderful. Also it shows that LGB R1 does have its correct place on Tram Layouts.

Some fantastic model making skills on show there. I wonder how many small children, who have seen this layout, will be inspired to build their own at some point in later life. The large circular scenic layout at Hamleys, on the first floor "atrium", back in the 1960's certainly left its mark on me. Max

Oops. My self-built trams are becoming more and more. Yesterday (13.04.2022) we had another driving day with a friend. And we had a lot of fun. The weather was initially very sunny. Later it became hazy and a raindrop or two came down. Now the models are covered with Saharan dust.
Finally, we took photos of the vehicles used. And two tram trains and a work tram were still missing.
Today I made the decision to gradually sell my 12 original LGB trams, because they haven't been on exhibitions for a long time, there's no more room for them.5105.jpg

Who needs LGB Trams when you can make your own? But would it be worthwhile to keep one or two of the lesser valued ones for conversions? Or have you done enough?

I actually still have 8 complete trams, without screws and motor gear. They have different colors. In fact, I'm thinking about building another Christmas tram. It will have a lot of flashing stuff. Maybe there will be a catenary observation car. A camera will be installed in the pulpit.
Let's see.

The other LGB trams were driving collector's items. But there is no more room.

I do not want to distract from the great models being built by schienenkönig but while LGB trams might have a better reputation for their traction motor, I don't think we should forget Bachmann, who for me made a better looking model even if the traction motor has a less than favourable reputation.

schienenkönig schienenkönig Some very nice models on display, I can only hope to do as well.

Some ore trams had been build since my last post. Ween I was at Hannover WeHmingen tram museum I saw a tank trailer in a shelf, very dusty and looked unused for ages. So I told the owner, don:t throw it away. And the end of our exhibition he came to me and said: "I don't need this trailer anymore. So take it home as a present."My friend Wilfried who had his brithday som eday ago, so I thought to give it to him.

80999-1724-08.10.2022.jpg

Also I bought this grey work tram for 30,00€. It comes with a old digitrax decoder. Don't know what to to with it yet. May comming back as a passenger tram.

Art home we started a cosmetic treatment.

80737-1724-03.09.2022.jpg

The pipes made from straws had been changed to plastic pipes.

80738-1724-03.09.2022.jpg

The handbreak handles chnaged to wheel based breaks.

80741-1724-29.09.2022.jpg

New colour coat, labels and letters and the trailer looks new.

80999-1724-05.10.2022.jpg

WIth new couplings it was intregrated into the fleet.
80999-711+1724+1713-05.10.2022.jpg

And it comes on tracks with the other water cars,

80999-001-08.10.2022.jpg

Again an other 30,00€ to save this.

80999-000-08.10.2022.jpg

So a question to you. Any ideas what to buildt?

80764-atw-neu-29.09.2022.jpg

A LGB tram with digitrax decoder. What to do with it. May be converting it into a Wuppertal passenger tram, or just a better looking work tram?

80999-336+133-05.10.2022.jpg

Nearly finished Hagen Tram 336 and trailer 133 from the fomer Hagener Strassenbahn A.G. - I converted it from an other tram and n´made new front ends and more electrics to it.
80999-336+133-2-05.10.2022.jpg

The advertising for the tram railcar is still missing, but in work. The couplings have to be adjusted again. Unfortunately, the trailer derailed at two R2 curve switches.

Hello forum members,
my friend Wilfried and me have been to the Hannover tramway museum and brought over our models. It was a very busy weekend. It was also the last opening day, before winter closing Also the museum provide a ltittle halloween, or a lantern walk. Here in Germany we call ot Martinszug, It is a day of St Martin- He was a knight and shared his coat with a beggar. Children make their own lanterns with light. Then they parade through the streets with it and sing Martins songs. They are given sweets. So round about 1.100 vistors came on the 31. October. Many little ones came and had also a look to the big g-scale layout. On the edge whre nmy friend and me are working, is at the moment a non finished section. We couldt runf our trams and we made a driving school for the little ones. There where no time to make photos. Next morning, before we left we made a photo shooting with Hagen 336 an trailer 133, this tram will go to an other friend. His lay out is situated on the area where the former tram route 11, from Hagener Straßenbahn rode.

What a super set of pics for a Tram layout, closest I can think of is the Whiteleafe line.

I have to agree..
That is shot of the trams in the shed, is very atmospheric.

PhilP

2M model tramway layout in Hanover Tramway Museum.
Development in fast motion.
1997 first meeting of 1:22,5 scale model tramway enthusiasts at the Hanover Tramway Museum.
From 1998 then annual meeting until 2007.
In the beginning loose construction of the layout on wallpaper tables.
From 2000 the first modules were built.
In the following years the modules became more and more, until the layout could be built completely with modules. After 2007, the layout could be built up permanently in a room in the Hanover Tramway Museum., which was made available to us by the museum. In the following years the layout was extended more and more.
Models: The model trams shown on the layout are almost all self-built.
Operation: The layout is digitally controlled with the Digitrax system and has no automatic control.
The core of the group consisted for many years of 5 modelers, joined now and then by some helpers. Today we are sometimes up to 10 who participate on the driving days in changing occupations.

I was at Rowington at the weekend, and remembered I had promised to get some photo's of this:
