What happened at your workbench today?

Could be or a Ford drawing, all I have is of a sales possibility to the Ffestiniog Railway that did not declare build origin but was a Standard Gauge drawing.

Well, storm Bert ensured that I stayed inside today, tackling the Northeast Narrow Gauge turntable kit that I bought yesterday. It comes in a slim box, with drawings, instructions, a few pins and things, and an assortment of pieces of pine.

The drawings are dated 2000, and it is a bit of a time capsule to how kits were back before laser cutting and 3D printing. But all rather enjoyable, sanding the sawn finish to remove the arris and then gluing and clamping everything together.

I've got about as far as I can for today; another couple of hours should see it completed, and then there's the whole shenanigans of building a well and thinking about how it will operate...

Patrick, a bit off track but seeing that Gravy boat on your bench made me laugh, as Aldi are running their Christmas TV ad with one in it. I hope the link works for over there...

Attempted to clear some steam oil from my Mamod Brunel's boiler. I but it hasn't worked, but the loco has worked well for years with some in there so I don't suppose I've done it any harm

I like that! The gravy boat on my bench is from my parents' dinner service, which I inherited. It is both cracked and chipped, so I bought a secondhand one to replace it, but couldn't bear to throw the original out; so it has toffees in it. But working on the 'there's a prototype for everything' rule, I could put a model outbound motor on it and have it moored somewhere on my layout...:nerd:

I presume it's long enough for the rail car:tmi:

It is! I did some quick mental maths, comparing 21½inches to 600mm before parting with any cash, hoping that I could adapt it if necessary. Fortunately, checking before I started work on the kit, it will fit without needing any changes.
